Um, basically your deck kind of explains the business. And your delivery, like, closes the round, I guess.

Your deck explains the business. Your delivery closes the round.

So, basically, a brilliant message kind of dies if you, like, can't hold the room, you know.

Um, I suppose doubt is kind of contagious. So you should sort of speak with absolute certainty, perhaps.

Common questions

What should a mock interview actually cover?

A mix of question types you expect to face: behavioral, situational, and role-specific. Aim to cover the company values or competencies listed in the job description, plus the two or three questions you most dread getting.

How many mock interviews should I do before the real one?

There is no fixed number. Start with the questions most likely to come up, review every recording, and repeat weak answers until they are clear without sounding memorized. A few focused sessions with review are more useful than many recordings you never revisit.

Is an AI mock interview as useful as a human one?

They serve different purposes. A human gives you body language and instinctive social feedback. AI gives you instant analysis on structure, pacing, and filler words across many more reps than a human partner can sit through. Use both if you can.

How do I track whether I am actually improving?

Watch three things across sessions: how often you ramble past the result, your filler word rate, and whether your answers fit a clear framework or wander. Improvement on those three usually transfers to the real interview.

What should I do with the feedback after a mock session?

Choose one weakness to fix in the next attempt, then record the same answer again. For example, add the missing result before also trying to change your pace and filler words. One controlled change makes it easier to tell whether the answer improved.

Can I practice role-specific mock interview questions?

Yes. speaking.app has public question sets organized around roles, companies, and interview types. Pick a relevant set, record your answer, and review the transcript, delivery feedback, and rewritten version before trying the question again.

Does speaking.app run an interactive AI interview roleplay?

No. speaking.app is recorded mock-interview practice: you answer a question, then review the analysis after you finish. It does not play an interviewer, interrupt you, or ask live follow-up questions. If interactive roleplay is your priority, the AI interview practice roundup compares tools such as Yoodli that provide that format.

What makes AI mock interview practice realistic?

Realism comes from matching the question, time pressure, and answer format you will face. Use questions tied to the role, answer out loud without reading a script, and review the recording before repeating it. Interactive roleplay can add follow-up questions; recorded practice is better suited to tightening the substance and delivery of a specific answer.
