Highlights
Hey, I'm David, and we're Retool. Retool is a dramatically faster way to build custom internal tools. What are custom internal tools? Let's say you're YouTube and somebody's uploaded a dodgy video. You want to be able to approve or reject that video. That's a custom internal tool, and every company builds them today. One of our customers spent two hundred K and six months building a custom sales forecasting tool. We built it for them inside Retool from scratch in just twenty minutes on the sales call. Unsurprisingly, that seventy-five thousand person company just signed a paid pilot with us. How do we do it? We realized that all custom internal tools actually have the same building blocks, and your engineers are wasting their time writing the same code over and over again. So Retool gives you pre-built components which you can drag and drop and compose to build any custom internal tool that you might want. That's fifty times faster than building it from scratch every single time. And the market is huge. Fifty percent of all code in the world goes towards these internal tools. That might sound surprising, but just think of all the companies outside of Silicon Valley. Think of Coca-Cola. All of the code that Coca-Cola writes is all internal stuff. In fact, one of our customers spends four hundred million dollars every single year building these internal tools. We're two months in, and we already have eleven K in MRR and are live with thirteen customers. We have a paid pilot with a giant enterprise, and that's worth one point five million dollars. To summarize, we're Retool. We let you build custom internal tools much faster. The market is huge. Every single company has these custom internal tools that they have to write from scratch today. We have eleven K MRR in two months and a paid pilot with a huge enterprise. Many of your portfolio companies are wasting their time building internal tools right now. Give us a like and let us help them. Thanks.
Pitch Summary

This pitch is easy to follow and has real punch because you anchor the category with a simple example, then hit a sharp before-and-after story (six months and $200K versus 20 minutes) and credible early revenue. Your delivery sounds controlled and confident, especially when you pause to let big proof points land.

Hook

Hey, I’m David, and we’re Retool. Retool is a dramatically faster way to build custom internal tools. For example, if you’re YouTube and someone uploads a dodgy video, you need an internal app so an operator can review it and approve or reject it. That kind of custom workflow exists inside every company.

Problem

Today, companies build these tools from scratch, even though they reuse the same patterns again and again. One of our customers spent $200,000 and six months building a custom sales forecasting tool. That is expensive, slow, and it ties up engineers on internal software instead of the product work that actually moves the business.

Solution

Retool lets teams build those internal apps much faster, so they can ship the exact tool they need without rewriting the same code every time.

How It Works

We realized that most internal tools are made from the same building blocks. Retool gives you pre-built components you can drag and drop, then compose into the workflow you need, whether that is approvals, forecasting, or any other internal process.

Differentiation

That approach makes Retool about fifty times faster than building the same internal tool from scratch every single time.

Market

The market is huge because every company runs on internal software, not just Silicon Valley startups. Think of a company like Coca-Cola. Most of the code they write is internal. In fact, one of our customers spends $400 million every year building internal tools. We think about fifty percent of all code in the world goes toward this kind of internal software.

Traction

We’re only two months in. We already have $11,000 in monthly recurring revenue and 13 live customers. On a sales call, we rebuilt that customer’s sales forecasting tool from scratch inside Retool in just 20 minutes, and that 75,000-person company signed a paid pilot with us. We also have a paid pilot with a giant enterprise worth $1.5 million.

Business Model

[Not covered in the original pitch. Consider adding one sentence on how you charge, for example per seat, per developer, per workspace, or per deployment, and what a typical customer pays.]

Team

[Not covered in the original pitch. Consider adding one sentence on why you are the right team to build Retool, for example relevant engineering or developer tools background.]

Ask

If you invest in or run companies that are spending months building internal tools, we’d love introductions to the teams that own this problem so we can save them that engineering time. Come talk to us after, or reach us at [insert contact or URL], and we’ll show you how fast you can build your first internal app in Retool.

Vision

Our goal is to become the default way every company builds internal software, so internal tools take minutes to create instead of months.
